AFC Bournemouth twice battled back to snatch a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw with 10-man Manchester United at Vitality Stadium.

After both goalkeepers starred in a goalless first half before Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.

Ryan Christie netted Bournemouth's first leveller, though Man Utd quickly restored their lead thanks to a James Hill own goal.

Second-half substitute Junior Kroupi then rescued a fifth straight draw for Andoni Iraola's side from 12 yards after Harry Maguire brought Evanilson down in the box, leading to a red card for the Red Devils defender.

With neither side able to find a winner, Bournemouth, now unbeaten in 11 matches, remain in 10th spot, now three points behind seventh-place Brentford. Meanwhile, Man Utd are third, with a six-point cushion to Liverpool in fifth.

How the match unfolded

It was a frantic start, with Amad forcing a strong save from Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic before Rayan dragged wide just seconds later at the other end.

The best chance of the first half fell Fernandes' way after he was picked out at the back post by Diogo Dalot, but the Man Utd captain's strike was expertly kept out by Petrovic’s left foot.

United were then presented with a golden opportunity to break the deadlock after a lapse in concentration from Alex Jimenez, who tugged Matheus Cunha down in the box, and Fernandes sent Petrovic the wrong way from the spot.

That goal sparked the second half to life, with Christie sweeping past 'keeper Senne Lammens six minutes later to equalise before Hill headed into his own net from Fernandes' in-swinging corner in the 71st minute.

But the drama was not yet over, as Maguire saw red for the denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity for a challenge on Evanilson in the box, and Kroupi calmly restored parity with the resulting penalty 10 minutes later.

Both sides attempted to find a winner late on, but neither goalkeeper was tested as the points were shared.
