Al Ahly recorded their second victory in the Capital of Egypt Cup (Egyptian League Cup) on Saturday after defeating Pharco FC 4–1.
Hussein El Shahat delivered a standout performance, scoring a hat-trick in the 26th, 42nd, and 61st minutes, while also providing an assist for Slovenian teammate Nitz Gradisar, who scored in the 52nd minute.
Mahmoud Farhat netted Pharco’s only goal in the 67th minute.
With the win, Al Ahly moved up to six points in fourth place, while Pharco remain third with nine points, level on goal difference with second-placed ENPPI. Tala’ea El Gaish lead the group with 10 points.
Al Ahly had previously lost three matches against Ghazl El Mahalla, ENPPI, and المقاولون العرب (Arab Contractors), while securing a single win over Ceramica Cleopatra. They now face a final group match against leaders Tala’ea El Gaish.
In another fixture from Group Two, Wadi Degla claimed a convincing 4–0 victory over Pyramids FC in the sixth round.
Ahmed Refaat opened the scoring for Wadi Degla in the 10th minute, before Ali Hussein added the second goal in the 39th minute.
Pyramids suffered a major setback in first-half stoppage time when Ziad Nawawi was sent off, followed shortly by a second red card shown to Hassan Tarek, leaving the team—fielding mainly under-21 players—down to nine men for the entire second half.
Ali Hussein struck again in the 47th minute to score his second goal and Wadi Degla’s third, before Youssef Oya completed the rout with the fourth goal in the 52nd minute.
Wadi Degla now sit third in Group Two with seven points, while Pyramids remain sixth with three points. Petrojet top the group with 12 points, followed by El Gouna with 10.
