Al‑Nassr boosted their chances of winning the Saudi Pro League title this season after beating their hosts Al‑Okhdood 2–0 on Saturday, in matchday 28 of the competition.
Al‑Nassr opened the scoring through their veteran Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in the 15th minute, in a match played at Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Najran. Ronaldo celebrated his 98th goal in 101 appearances in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al‑Nassr in early 2023. He also moved to 24 league goals this season, putting him in third place in the league’s top‑scorer chart, behind Mexican Julian Quintero of Al‑Qadsiah, who has 26 goals, and English striker Ivan Tony of Al‑Ahli Jeddah, on 27.
Portuguese international João Félix added a second goal for Al‑Nassr in the 47th minute, taking his tally to 16 goals in 27 league appearances this season. The brace from the two Portuguese stars gave Al‑Nassr their 14th consecutive league win, lifting their total to 73 points at the top of the table, five points clear of Al‑Hilal with six matches remaining.
Al‑Okhdood, who lost for a sixth time to Al‑Nassr in their head‑to‑head history, remained stuck on 16 points in 17th and second‑to‑last place, having suffered their 20th league defeat this season.
