Al-Qadisiya Open Season with Commanding 3-1 Win Over Al-Shabab

Riyadh – Saudi Pro League

Al-Qadisiya kicked off their new Saudi Pro League campaign in style, coming from behind to beat hosts Al-Shabab 3-1 in a match that saw momentum swing between both sides before "Al-Amid" sealed the win with three unanswered goals spread across both halves.

Al-Shabab Strike First

Al-Shabab caught their visitors off guard with the opener in the 15th minute, as Hamam Al-Hamami capitalized on a precise cross from Hussein Al-Sabyani, threaded through by Josh Brownhill inside the box. Al-Hamami turned and fired a clinical finish into the net.

Al-Qadisiya looked to respond quickly through forward Bonsu Baah, but his efforts were repelled by a well-organized Al-Shabab defense, which continued to threaten on the counterattack.

Al-Qadisiya Turn the Tide

Al-Qadisiya's equalizer arrived in the 36th minute through winger Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat, who showed sharp individual skill by cleverly beating the Al-Shabab goalkeeper before slotting the ball home, restoring parity before the break.

In the 80th minute, Al-Qadisiya capitalized on a smart run from Mohammed Al-Qahtani, who delivered a superb pass to Mexican forward Julián Quiñones. Quiñones found the net to give his side the lead for the first time in the match.

Substitute Turki Al-Ammar put the result beyond doubt in the third minute of stoppage time, finishing off a swift counterattack started by Al-Qahtani, who passed to Quiñones, who in turn squared the ball to Al-Ammar to complete the scoring and seal a full 3-1 victory.

A Statement Start to the Season

Al-Qadisiya finished last season in fourth place in the overall standings, and this commanding away win gives the club a strong psychological boost as they begin their new campaign. Meanwhile, Al-Shabab face an early test to correct course after an opening-round defeat.
