Al‑Ittihad moved to 55 points in fifth place, the position that qualifies its occupant for the play‑offs to reach the league stage of the Asian Champions League Elite next season.
Al‑Ittihad now sit three points clear of Al‑Taawoun, who are sixth and will play against Al‑Riyadh on Friday.
On the other hand, Al‑Ettifaq’s points remained at 49 points in seventh place.
Al‑Ittihad took the lead in the 2nd minute through Houssem Aouar, before Moussa Diaby added the second goal in the 18th minute.
In the 25th minute, Khalid Al‑Ghannam scored Al‑Ettifaq’s only goal, but Diaby struck again for Al‑Ittihad in the 78th minute.
