Al‑Ittihad restored the winning rhythm in the Saudi Pro League by defeating Damac 3–0 on Saturday, in matchday 27 of the competition. The club had previously suffered two defeats in their two matches before the international break, losing 2–3 to Al‑Qadsiah in the league, then to Al‑Hilal on penalties in the semi‑finals of the King’s Cup.
Damac defender Dhari Al‑Enzi opened the scoring for Al‑Ittihad own‑goal in the 3rd minute. English striker Evan Tonny added a second goal in the 6th minute, and Brazilian Matheus Gonzalves extended the lead with the third goal in the 56th minute. Al‑Ittihad moved to 65 points, temporarily second in the standings, five points behind league leaders Al‑Nassr. Damac remain close to the relegation zone with 22 points in 15th place.
