Arsenal moved closer to the Premier League title as Kai Havertz's first-half header proved enough for a 1-0 win over Burnley at Emirates Stadium. The already-relegated visitors stood firm until the 37th minute, but Arsenal's set-piece prowess proved crucial once again as Havertz nodded home from Bukayo Saka's corner. However, if Mikel Arteta's title-chasers expected Burnley to fold, they were mistaken as the Clarets remained in the contest until the final whistle. But for all Burnley's effort, they never truly threatened David Raya's goal, and after navigating seven tense minutes of second-half stoppage time, Arsenal know a victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday will clinch the title. They may not even have to wait that long, as they will be confirmed as champions on Tuesday if Manchester City fail to beat AFC Bournemouth. Burnley stay 19th in the table but could still finish bottom. How the match unfolded Florentino shot through a crowd of bodies early on, but his effort trickled wide, and Arsenal soon got on top, with Havertz snatching at their first chance following a short corner. Leandro Trossard's shot from outside the area smacked the base of the post, and after Hannibal Mejbri sliced wide against the run of play, Saka's cross from the right almost caught out Max Weiss in the Burnley goal. Martin Odegaard's strike then deflected wide off Burnley's Lesley Ugochukwu, and from the resulting corner, Havertz rose to power Saka's inswinging delivery past Weiss. Saka curled narrowly wide from Arsenal's final attack of the first half, and early in the second period, Eberechi Eze's volley struck the crossbar. Havertz was booked following a poorly timed challenge on Ugochukwu and was immediately withdrawn for Viktor Gyokeres, with the tension palpable among the home fans as Burnley continued to battle away. Former Man City favourite Kyle Walker launched a couple of long balls into Arsenal's area as Burnley searched in vain for an equaliser, with huge cheers greeting the final whistle - and Arsenal now one win away from the title
