Barcelona continued to chase its arch-rival Real Madrid in the race to compete between them at the top of the Spanish League, after achieving a valuable and well-deserved 3/1 victory over its host Real Oviedo, on Thursday evening, at the end of the sixth stage of the competition.
Oviedo took the lead with a surprise goal scored by Alberto Reina in the 33rd minute, before Barcelona rose up in the second half, which witnessed him scoring three goals at once.
Eric Garcia scored the equalizer for Barcelona in the 56th minute, while veteran Polish star Robert Lewandowski scored the second goal for German coach Hansi Flick's team in the 70th minute, minutes after he entered the field, coming from the bench.
Uruguayan Ronald Araujo fired the coup de grace at Oviedo's hopes of a draw, after scoring Barcelona's third goal in the 88th minute.
Barcelona, which achieved its third consecutive victory in the competition this season and its fifth this season against a single draw, rose to 16 points in second place, two points behind Real Madrid (the leader).
On the other hand, Real Oviedo, which suffered its fifth loss in the tournament during the current season against a single win, stopped at 3 points in eighteenth place (third from the bottom).
