Bayern Munich Women retained their Frauen‑Bundesliga title early, securing the crown after a hard‑fought 3–2 win against Union Berlin Women on Wednesday.
The Bavarian side extended their winning streak in the league to 19 consecutive victories, a new club record, and guaranteed first place with four matchdays still to play, underlining their dominance in the competition.
This success comes just days after Bayern Munich’s men’s team were crowned German Bundesliga champions, as the club continues to push for trophies across all fronts.
Julia Goeßling, captain of the German national team, scored the decisive goal, guiding her side to the league title for the fourth season in a row.
The title delivers a strong morale boost for Bayern going into the upcoming first‑leg semi‑final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League against Barcelona Women next Saturday.
The team also faces another major challenge when they meet rivals VfL Wolfsburg Women in the final of the DFB‑Pokal Frauen (German Women’s Cup) on 14 May.
