Atlético took the lead in the first half with a penalty reviewed by the VAR, but our team managed to equalise with a goal from Mbappé after the break.

Real Madrid drew against Atlético in the derby played at the Santiago Bernabéu and remain top of La Liga. The visitors took the lead in the first half after a penalty reviewed by VAR that Julián Álvarez converted, but Mbappé made it 1-1 at the start of the second half. Our team, who had numerous chances to win, found a very inspired Oblak in goal and the result remained until the end.

Madrid began from the beginning to develop plays with patience to reach the opponent's area. However, it was Atlético who were the first to warn with a deflected shot by Lino from outside the area (14'). Our team immediately replied with a long-range shot by Rodrygo that went high. In the 18th minute, it was Vini Jr.'s turn from the edge of the area but his strong left-footed shot did not find the target. After half an hour, De Burgos Bengoetxea warned Soto Grado from the VAR to review an action in the area by Tchouameni on Lino. After seeing it on the monitor, the referee signalled a penalty and Julián Álvarez made it 0-1 (34').

Mbappé scores the equalizer
After the break, Madrid were a gale and in the 50th minute they made it 1-1. Rodrygo went in a good play to the byline and put a back pass for Bellingham's shot. Giménez's rejection fell to Mbappé, who adjusted with his right foot to the left post of the goal to score his 23rd goal this season. Two minutes later they came close to scoring again in a great action by Vini Jr. on the left side. The Brazilian's cross was headed by Bellingham, who hit the crossbar.

They were the best minutes of Ancelotti's men, who came close to making it 2-1 again in a play identical to the previous one. Ceballos put in a cross and Bellingham's header was intercepted by Oblak. The visiting goalkeeper became the protagonist by first rejecting, in the 71st minute, a point-blank shot from Rodrygo; and in the next play, he got a saving hand to a left-footed shot by Vini Jr.

More chances for Madrid
The derby took on a very high pace in which both teams were looking for the winning goal. But it was Madrid who enjoyed the best chances. In the 82nd minute, Vini Jr. got rid of his mark with a beautiful shot and put a precise cross to Rodrygo, whose right-footed shot narrowly missed the target. Before added time, Valverde put in a good through ball to Mbappé but Oblak guessed his intentions with another decisive intervention. Our team was far superior in the second half, but the derby ended 1-1 and we are still top of La Liga.
