After losing 1–0 away to Napoli in the previous matchday, Milan suffered a second consecutive defeat for the first time this season, this time 3–0 at home against Udinese on Saturday, in matchday 32 of Serie A.
Goals for the visitors were scored by Davide Bartesaghi (27′, an own goal into his own team’s net), Dutchman Jürgen Ekkelenkamp (37′), and Frenchman Arthur Atah (71′). Milan’s tally was frozen at 63 points in third place, two points behind second‑placed Napoli, who are visiting Parma on Sunday.
Manager Massimiliano Allegri’s side are going through a results crisis, having taken only one loss in the first 25 league matchdays but then suffering four defeats in the last seven, which has effectively ended their realistic chances of winning the title as they now trail neighbors and rivals Inter, the leaders, by nine points (Inter have 72 points and face fourth‑placed Como, on 58 points, on Sunday).
Udinese, meanwhile, recorded their second win in three matches (with one draw in between), lifting their total to 43 points in 10th place.
