Inter, a draw that can cost dearly: the changes have taken away charisma. Milan, useless comeback

A comeback suffered by the Nerazzurri, successful for the Rossoneri: these are the after-effects of the Coppa Italia derby. Between Roma and Juve it is decided who is in the Champions League

Milanese drained by the Coppa Italia derby? A comeback suffered and a success: however, little satisfaction. More than a stunner, it was a progressive erosion of energy and leadership that sank Inter in the second half of Parma and consigned it to a Sunday of regrets and growing anxiety. Because if it was already difficult to keep the result against Udinese, always scoring with a goal from outside the box and with Sommer always protagonist, in Parma Inter were unable to defend a two-goal lead. It's hard not to talk about a 10-minute blackout. Entertaining and agile for 45 minutes: goal from yet another low cross by Dimarco with Darmian's finish, fifth opposite: it is a well-known solution yet always winning; Marcus Thuram doubles with a missed shot and a lot of grimace from his father Lilian. Inter gave in after the changes designed to dose the forces by Simone Inzaghi (in the stands) and made by his deputy Farris, but which proved to have nefarious effects: Lautaro (with Calha) came out at 2-1 and despite the move was expected and agreed he made it clear that it did not seem appropriate given the circumstances, with a Parma that is taking courage thanks also to the choices of Chivu and with Bastoni and Dimarco already out (plus Barella disqualified and Dumfries out due to injury).

A MATTER OF PERSONALITY

It is as if Inzaghi/Farris had preferred to follow already written plans, without having the sensitivity to smell the air and the courage to improvise. Only a wrong split by Pellegrino in the final prevents the mood of the Inter fans from plummeting from the treble dream to the nightmare of a season finale of torment, but the opportunity thrown to put pressure on Napoli (tomorrow struggling with a complicated commitment to say the least in Bologna) remains in any case sensational. One of those destined to torment many nights, if Conte, in turn disqualified, instead were to climb over the last obstacle on paper really challenging and move to -1. The challenge for Inzaghi, given that rotations with this calendar and these commitments are inevitable, is this: to preserve mental energy as well as physical energy. And ensure a guaranteed minimum of personality at all times. No one thinks it is easy but it is what is needed to continue on the three fronts. In the changes, it will no longer be enough to have regard to fatigue but also to the leadership contribution that those who enter and leave are able to give.

MILAN: USUAL MISTAKES, ANOTHER COMEBACK

Because that it is above all a matter of the head is shown plastically by Milan who find themselves down by two goals after ten minutes against Fiorentina but who manage yet another comeback. The Rossoneri should only play derbies to show a minimum of attention and concentration, for the rest every game now seems like a step towards next season: its 2-2, despite an entertaining game, risks having a very relative value. It is true that Fiorentina deserves more than the Conference League stage that they have honored in recent years, but the compulsion to always repeat the same mistakes (see the start against Napoli) is unacceptable: it is the seventh time that Milan have conceded a goal in the first 10 minutes. We are beyond diabolical perseverance, Conceicao's team lights up only after being slapped and to understand why perhaps a good one is needed. Among the many things to decipher is the case of the center forward, given that Abraham and Jovic score while the expensive purchase Gimenez seems lost as well as very unlucky (immediately out).

ROMA-JUVE, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CHALLENGE

—

"There is a day that we got lost, like losing a ring in a meadow. And there was a whole future program that we did not come true". With Ivano Fossati one wonders where Thiago Motta's project at Juventus has been lost: in the Corriere della Sera he complained that he did not have time, sacked one point from the Champions League goal, let alone what his poor replacement Igor Tudor can say who got to work with the ticking clock looming. Today Roma-Juventus will clarify which of the two "fixes everything", between Tudor and Claudio Ranieri, will have found the most effective tools. In Rome, where in another era Totti waved the famous "4 and bring home" in his face, the Slavic plays his first direct clash: he has the chance to stretch on one of the most in-form teams (perhaps hoping for a Bologna slowdown tomorrow), or he can see Roma (7 consecutive wins) hook him.
