Qatari champion Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah continued his dominance in the Middle East Rally Championship by winning the 2026 Jordan Rally, marking the 18th time he has claimed the title in his career.
Alongside his Spanish co-driver Candido Carrera, Al-Attiyah delivered a commanding performance behind the wheel of a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, winning all 12 special stages held across the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley regions—repeating an achievement he previously accomplished in 2016.
He completed the rally with a total time of 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 26.1 seconds, finishing 3 minutes and 53.7 seconds ahead of Oman’s Abdullah Al-Rawahi in second place, while Saudi Arabia’s Hamza Bakhashab took third alongside Irish co-driver Lorcan Moore.
This victory marks Al-Attiyah’s 92nd win in the Middle East Rally Championship, further strengthening his lead in the current season standings.
Speaking after the win, Al-Attiyah praised his team’s performance, noting that winning all stages reflects the extensive preparation behind their success. He said: “It was a fantastic weekend. I was surprised by the speed we achieved compared to last year on the same stages, which shows the quality of our preparation.”
The rally also saw notable participation from Qatari drivers across categories. Nasser Khalifa Al-Attiyah and his Lebanese co-driver Ziad Chehab overcame brake issues from the first day to finish eighth overall in a Ford Fiesta Rally2, continuing their challenge for the Masters title.
Meanwhile, the Qatari duo Mohammed Al-Marri and Rashid Al-Muhannadi competed in the Rally4 category in Peugeot 208 cars under the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation, but mechanical issues prevented them from finishing despite a strong start.
The Middle East Rally Championship will resume with its next round in Lebanon from September 11 to 13.
