Kane Hat-Trick Leads Bayern to the German Cup Title

Harry Kane scored a second-half hat-trick to guide Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to a 3–0 victory over Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal Final on Saturday, securing the club’s first domestic double in six years.

Kane opened the scoring with a header in the 55th minute, then doubled the lead by finishing off a brilliant team move ten minutes from time, before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

The England captain—who is enjoying outstanding form ahead of next month’s World Cup—became only the third player in history to score in every round of the German Cup, including the final.

Kane has now scored 61 goals in 51 matches across all competitions for Bayern this season.

Bayern had been on the defensive for much of the first half against the defending champions, but struck against the run of play thanks to Kane’s header, which came after a precise cross from Michael Olise ten minutes into the second half. The goal also extended Kane’s run as the Bundesliga’s top scorer for the third consecutive season.

The match was briefly halted in the 60th minute after fans from both sides lit flares, causing smoke to accumulate under the roof of the Olympic Stadium and reducing visibility.

Stuttgart’s Chris Führich came close to scoring with a header in the 76th minute, but Kane responded four minutes later with a stunning goal that effectively ended Stuttgart’s hopes of a comeback. The 32-year-old striker first struck the crossbar with a powerful shot, then reacted quickly to a loose ball inside the box, receiving a pass from Luis Díaz, turning past a defender, and finishing low into the net.

Kane sealed a perfect night for himself and for Bayern by converting a stoppage-time penalty, completing a dominant performance from the Bavarian giants.
