Mbappé raised his World Cup tally to 16 goals, moving into a shared second place on the tournament’s all‑time scoring list alongside retired German striker Miroslav Klose, just two goals behind Argentina’s Lionel Messi at the top.
Ousmane Dembélé added France’s third goal, registering his first strike in this edition of the World Cup.
With this result, France climbed to 6 points at the top of the group, securing early qualification to the Round of 32, while Iraq remained in fourth place with no points.
