Barcelona celebrated its return to the «Camp Nou» stadium after an absence of more than two years, with a big win over Athletic Bilbao 4-0, on Saturday, in the 13th round of the Spanish Football League.
Barcelona spent the past two seasons at the Olympic Stadium «Montjuïc», before returning today to its stadium, which underwent a process of development and an increase in the number of seats, as the Catalan club aims to reach a capacity of 105,000 spectators.
Only 45,000 spectators were allowed to attend the match at the new Camp Nou stadium «Camp Nou», and Barcelona rewarded its fans with a wonderful performance and a well-deserved 4-0 victory.
Polish Robert Lewandowski opened Barcelona's goals in the match at Camp Nou in its new form in the fourth minute, before his teammate Ferran Torres added the second goal in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half.
In the 48th minute, Fermin Lopez scored Barcelona's third goal, while Bilbao suffered from a numerical shortage after its player Oihan Sunset was sent off in the 54th minute for interfering with the scorer of the Catalan team's third goal.
The big win comes at an important time for Barcelona, which raised its score to 31 points to temporarily top the competition, awaiting Real Madrid, which will face Elche on Sunday, in the same round, as the Catalan team will have a strong match against Chelsea in the Champions League next Tuesday.On the other hand, Bilbao, which will host Slavia Prague of the Czech Republic in the continental championship, froze at 17 points in eighth place.
