Iraq’s defeat against Senegal was not merely a heavy result added to their World Cup record. It was a clear reflection of a significant gap in mental and physical preparation, and the absence of the ability to manage critical moments. The early red card exposed the fragility of the tactical structure and showed that the team still lacks the character required for major matches that quality which enables teams to absorb shocks and return to their rhythm. In contrast, Senegal delivered a masterclass in how to exploit circumstances. They converted their numerical advantage into total dominance on the pitch, then into a goal-scoring festival, confirming that modern football does not forgive any team that takes even a single step backwards.
