The Tunisian national team lost to its Malian counterpart on penalties 2/3, after the end of regular and extra time in a 1-1 draw, at the Mohammed V Sports Complex, on Saturday, in the round of 16 of the 2025 African Cup of Nations.The Carthage Eagles took the lead first through their player Firas Chaouat in the 88th minute, before the Malian team scored the equalizer through Lassine Senayoko in stoppage time 90+.
The tie between the two teams continued until the 120th minute, when penalty kicks were resorted to, which ultimately smiled in favor of the Malian team
With this result, the Tunisian team bid farewell to the African Championship held in Morocco, while the Malian team qualified for the quarter-finals.
