Czech tennis player Linda Noskova was crowned Wimbledon champion for the first time in her professional career, after defeating her compatriot Karolina Muchova in two sets to one, with the score 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, in an all-Czech final on Saturday.Noskova delivered a strong performance to claim her first Grand Slam title, becoming the third Czech player to win Wimbledon in the last four years, following Marketa Vondrousova in 2023 and Barbora Krejcikova the year after.After winning the first set, Noskova led the second set 5-1 and had four match points to seal the championship. However, Muchova staged a thrilling comeback, winning six consecutive games to take the set and force a deciding third set.Noskova regained control in the final set to secure the prestigious title.This matchup highlighted the rich tradition of Czech players at Wimbledon, led by the legend Martina Navratilova, who holds the record with 9 singles titles at the All England Club.Noskova and Muchova had previously partnered together in women's doubles at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they finished in fourth place.The Royal Box featured a notable official and celebrity presence.
