Born in Germany, he is known by English stadiums and won his first international match at the age of 32.

Late Talent

Joselo represented the Spanish youth groups under the age of 19, 20 and 21, without the honour of wearing the first La Ruja shirt due to his delayed talent.

The Merengue striker waited until the age of 32, 11 months and 26 days for his first international match on 25 March 2023. In the European qualifiers to the European Cup in Germany this summer against Norway, he scored two goals in two minutes of a winning hat-trick after coming off the bench.

So far he has won 10 caps and scored five goals for the Spanish national team.

Before renewing his loan contract to Real Madrid in July 2023, Joselo's career was not stable as he moved between several clubs. He played for Real Madrid, Rudev, Newcastle, Stoke City, English and Hannover, to name a few.

He finally wore Alaves and Espanyol shirts, lending the latter to the Royal Club, but the two teams dropped to the second tier in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 respectively.

Spain's Real Madrid overturned a delay in the final minutes of the semi-final second leg to stun German hosts Bayern Munich into the final of the Champions League football competition.

Joselo (34), the champions of Wednesday evening, entered the stadium of the Santiago Bernabeu in the 81st minute when Real were 1-0 down with the other Canadian substitute Alfonso Davis (68) heading for defeat, and needed only 10 minutes to bring down the Bavarian giants with two killer goals (88 and 90 + 1), leading his team to a 2-1 win and a 4-3 aggregate lead.
