Associates of Nasser Al-Khelaifi Deny His Intention to Run for FIFA PresidencyClose associates of Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President of Paris Saint-Germain, have denied the accuracy of reports suggesting he intends to run for the presidency of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in the 2027 elections.French radio station Radio Monte Carlo reported that Al-Khelaifi’s name has been circulating within UEFA circles as a potential candidate to challenge the current president, Gianni Infantino, amid the ongoing tensions between FIFA and UEFA.The station noted that some UEFA officials view Al-Khelaifi as a figure capable of leading the international federation. However, the PSG president has no intention of entering the electoral race.One of his close associates was quoted as saying:
“The recent media hype is ridiculous. Nasser Al-Khelaifi has no intention or ambition to run. He will continue to support global and European football institutions quietly.”Infantino has already announced his intention to seek a new term in the elections scheduled for March 2027, and no official rival candidate has been announced so far.
