Bruno Fernandes Breaks Henry and De Bruyne’s Assist Record
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s star midfielder, has broken the Premier League record for the most assists in a single season.
The Portuguese playmaker set up a goal for teammate Patrick Dorgu, opening the scoring for Manchester United in their match against Brighton on Sunday, the final day of the Premier League season.
Fernandes delivered 21 assists in the league this season, surpassing the previous record of 20 assists, jointly held by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry (2002–2003) and Manchester City’s Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne (2019–2020).
Two weeks ago, Fernandes — United’s captain — was named England’s Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association, and he was also recently crowned Premier League Player of the Season.
