Cristiano Ronaldo has married his partner Georgina Rodríguez. The couple share five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo (9), Alana (8), and Bella (4), in addition to Cristiano Jr. (16), Ronaldo’s son from a previous relationship.

In April 2022, the Al‑Nassr star and Rodríguez announced the death of Ángel, Bella’s twin brother, shortly after birth.

Ronaldo first met Rodríguez in 2017, when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store.

In January of the same year, the couple made their first red‑carpet appearance at The Best awards ceremony organized annually by FIFA in Zurich.

By May, they officially announced their relationship on Instagram after Ronaldo posted a photo of them together.

In the Netflix reality show I Am Georgina, released in 2022, Ronaldo spoke about the early days of their relationship, saying he found Rodríguez “a very interesting girl, more mature than her age.”

Rodríguez said their relationship “began in a very special way.”

At first, Ronaldo did not expect the relationship to last, but he eventually fell in love with Rodríguez.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star said: “I didn’t think at first that the relationship would be this strong, or that I would fall in love with her. Honestly, I didn’t expect it. But after a while, I felt she was the woman of my life.”

In an interview with Elle Spain in December 2025, Rodríguez recalled Ronaldo’s surprise marriage proposal, saying she was “shocked” at that moment.

She said: “The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing I expected. It took me a long time to process the size of the diamond on the ring he gave me. I was so stunned that I left it in my room and didn’t see it under sunlight until the next day.”

She described the engagement ring as “magnificent,” joking: “It’s the least he could give me after ten years of waiting.”

A Wedding After Nearly 10 Years Together

After a relationship that lasted nearly a decade, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez, the Spanish‑Argentinian model, were married on Tuesday in Cascais, near Lisbon.

Since their first meeting in Madrid in 2016, and through their family life in Saudi Arabia, the five‑time Ballon d’Or winner and Rodríguez—who once worked as a shop assistant before becoming a global social‑media influencer—have never hesitated to share their relationship with the public.

Below are five key things to know about the couple:

1. A Meeting at a Gucci Store

Ronaldo met Georgina in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a sales assistant. Both described the encounter as “love at first sight.”

In an interview with Vogue Arabia in May 2025, Ronaldo asked Georgina what she felt when she first met him. She replied that from the first moment, she felt “a peace and energy that cannot be explained,” as if they had “known each other forever.”

At the time, Ronaldo had just ended a widely publicized five‑year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk.

Since then, Georgina’s story—becoming the partner of one of the world’s most famous athletes—has often been portrayed as a modern fairy tale.

2. A Media Power Couple

Over nearly ten years, Ronaldo and Rodríguez have built the image of a glamorous couple whose lifestyle attracts massive media attention far beyond football.

Georgina has become a star in her own right, signing numerous advertising contracts and appearing frequently in the media.

Yachts, sports cars, luxury jewelry, lavish homes… the couple regularly showcases their lifestyle on social media, sharing photos from vacations and family moments.

3. A Blended Family

Family life has become central to their public image. Ronaldo, a five‑time Ballon d’Or winner, is father to five children. His eldest son, Cristiano Jr., was born in 2010, while twins Eva and Mateo were born in 2017. Ronaldo has always kept the identity of the mothers of his first three children private.

The couple later welcomed two daughters: Alana Martina (born 2017) and Bella Esmeralda (born 2022). Bella’s birth came after the tragic death of her twin brother Ángel during delivery, a loss the couple announced publicly.

They raise all five children together. Since moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023, where Ronaldo plays for Al‑Nassr, the family frequently appears together on social media, sharing holiday photos, birthday celebrations, and everyday moments.

Georgina often says: “Family comes first,” noting that their daily life revolves around football and the children.

4. Over 750 Million Followers Combined

Together, Ronaldo and Georgina form a massive media force. Their combined follower count exceeds 750 million. Ronaldo has 678 million followers, making him the most‑followed person on Instagram, while Georgina has around 77 million.

But Georgina’s fame is not limited to being the partner of a footballer. She has built her own career, especially through the Netflix documentary I Am Georgina, which explores her life, family, and daily routines.

The show highlights their world of travel, private jets, luxury villas, red carpets, and family life.

Her appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, the Met Gala in New York, and major fashion events have further cemented her status as a public figure.

5. Two Brands… One Empire

Ronaldo and Georgina represent two complementary brands: Ronaldo as a global football icon, and Georgina as a prominent figure in fashion and social media.

Their fame is a powerful commercial engine. Ronaldo has expanded the CR7 brand beyond football, investing in fashion, hotels, and more.

Georgina has turned her own fame into a business, becoming a model and ambassador for major global brands, and expanding her collaborations in fashion and beauty with companies such as Guess, Chopard, Charlotte Tilbury, and L’Oréal Paris.
