Harry Kane, the English national team striker, expressed confidence that the team now has the best group of players after they completed their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Albania. He scored both goals in that match and believes the team will be one of the top contenders for the World Cup title next summer.

Kane told ITV, "I believe we are in our best period ever, and when you see the starting lineup and the substitutes, we are going to the tournament as favorites to win." He added, "We have always been contenders in previous tournaments, and this is part of the process."

He highlighted the great progress under the new coach and expressed optimism for a successful 2026. On the victory over Albania, Kane said it was an important win to end the year positively before the break until March.

The England team completed their qualifying without any losses, scoring 22 goals and conceding none. They became the second European team after Yugoslavia in 1954 to win all qualifiers without conceding.

This reflects a very strong and confident England side gearing up for the World Cup.
