Because of their disagreement on the Ballon d'Or.. Messi opposes Lewandowski joining Inter Miami

According to press reports, Lionel Messi (captain of Inter Miami) has opposed Poland's Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona's top scorer) joining the club despite the efforts of team owner David Beckham to complete the deal.

According to US magazine Forbes, which reported on the Al National newspaper, Messi's significant influence in the scenes of Inter Miami caused the suspension of a major deal under which Lewandowski would have moved to the US team.

Messi has previously opposed the Polish's possible admission to Inter Miami, on the back of tension between the players years ago.

The dispute between Messi and Levandowski is rooted in 2021, when the Argentine star won the Ballon d'Or, much to Lewandowski's anger, confirming that he was awarded the award after winning a historic sixth with Bayern Munich.
