Portuguese manager José Mourinho has moved close to returning to coach Real Madrid, after negotiations between the two parties entered their final stages in recent hours.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the agreement between Mourinho and the Spanish club's management has become imminent, with the Portuguese coach prepared to accept all conditions following a new round of positive talks.
Romano indicated that the official announcement may require some time, particularly after club president Florentino Pérez's decision to call for new elections, with procedures to be completed thereafter.
He added that Mourinho has given his preliminary approval to the project, while contract renewal negotiations with Benfica have been suspended pending the final decision from Florentino Pérez.
