Veteran Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal ended his final participation in the Rome Open Masters (1,000 points) with an early exit from the competition.

Nadal lost to world number nine Hubert Hurkacz of Poland on Saturday by 1/6 and 3/6 in the 64 round of the tournament.

The 37-year-old Nadal is the legend of the Rome Open and the most eligible for the title with 10 times in addition to his 70 wins throughout the history of his previous participation in the tournament.

Rafael Nadal missed last year's 2023 championships due to numerous injuries to the leg and groin muscle.

The Spanish star announced that he was retiring at the end of the current season, and is currently preparing to participate in the French Open, which will begin on May 26.

Nadal is also a 14-time French Open champion.
