The Saudi Olympic team won the Gulf Cup Under-23 title on Tuesday, after defeating its Iraqi counterpart 2-0 in the final match held at Stadium 974 in the Qatari capital, Doha. The Green Falcons' goals were scored by Rakan Al-Ghamdi and Abdulaziz Al-Aliwa in the 23rd and 49th minutes, to secure the final match for the Saudi team with a disciplined and effective performance. The Iraqi team played with a reduced number of players since the 44th minute, after its player Haider Abdul Karim was sent off, which made it difficult to return to the match.With this coronation, the Saudi national team raised its tally to five titles in the history of the Gulf Cup Under-23 Championship, after the years 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2025, compared to one title for the Emirates, Oman, and Bahrain, confirming its strong presence and historical control over the tournament, and continuing to consolidate its position as the team that has won the most titles at the age group level.
