FCSB managed to get an extremely important victory against U Cluj, 1-0, which brought the Romanian champion back to the top of the SuperLiga, with a 3-point lead over Universitatea Craiova.

The game was decided by the penalty won by Daniel Bîrligea and converted by David Miculescu, after an hour of play. However, VAR intervention was necessary for Szabolcs Kovacs to award the shot from 11 meters.

After the break, in the 58th minute, Bîrligea was fouled in the box, in a duel with Simion, and after VAR verification, Szabolcs Kovacs dictated penalties. Miculescu converted, in the 59th minute, opening the scoring.

The guests had a chance, in the 71st minute, at Fabry's shot, and Macalou gave emotions to Târnovanu in the 90+5 minute and finally FCSB won narrowly, 1-0.

Elias Charalambous' team leads the standings with 35 points. Universitatea Cluj has 29 points and is in 4th place in the play-offs.
