Midfielder and French international Adrien Rabiot guided his team AC Milan to a 1–0 victory over Hellas Verona on Sunday, in the 33rd matchday of the Italian Serie A, securing the first win for coach Massimiliano Allegri’s side after two consecutive defeats and grabbing second place in the table from Napoli.

Rabiot scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute.
Milan reached 66 points in second place, level on points with Napoli in third but ahead on goal difference, after Napoli lost 0–2 to Lazio on Saturday. The win was Milan’s first after defeats to Napoli and Udinese, and their 19th league victory of the season. Verona’s tally remained stuck at 18 points in the second‑to‑last position.

Rabiot said:
«The most important thing was the win and the points we needed to reach our goals, but we made a lot of mistakes today. We could have performed better.»
He added:
«We now need to focus on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.»

Portuguese winger Rafael Leão delivered a precise through‑ball into the path of Rabiot, who went through one‑on‑one, then fired a low shot with his left foot inside the penalty area to the left of host goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò to open the scoring in a first half that offered few clear chances on goal (41).

French goalkeeper Mike Maignan saved for Milan by blocking a low shot from the Algerian winger Rafik Belhadj, who had broken through on the right side of the area (45+2).

Juventus extend unbeaten run

Juventus, still chasing a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage, extended their unbeaten run by securing their fifth win in seven league matches, edging past host Bologna 2–0 at home, with goals by Canadian Jonathan David (2’) and substitute Frenchman Kévin Toure‑Oulian (57’).

Juventus increased their tally to 63 points in fourth place and were among the main beneficiaries of their rivals’ stumbles for European qualification, moving closer to third‑placed Napoli (66 points) while opening a gap on Como and Roma, who sit fifth and sixth respectively with 58 points each.

Juventus dominated the first half entirely, opening the scoring with a close‑range header from David after a cross from Frenchman Pierre Callois on the right flank.

It was the Canadian international’s first league goal since scoring away at Parma on 1 February, in matchday 23 (Juventus won 4–1), and it took his season tally of attacking contributions across all competitions to eight goals and five assists in 42 appearances.

Verona’s crossbar then repelled a shot from Swedish winger Emil Holm just outside the penalty area (34), before Toure‑Oulian sealed the result with a close‑range header from a cross by American Weston McKennie on the right flank (57).

Cremonese, Torino and Genoa results

In another match on Sunday afternoon, Cremonese drew 0–0 with their visitors Torino.
Cremonese moved to 28 points in 17th place, just one point ahead of Lecce, who sit 18th in the relegation zone and who face Fiorentina on Monday.

Torino, in turn, climbed to 40 points in 12th place.

Genoa picked up their second consecutive league win by edging past hosts Pisa 2–1.
The home side had opened the scoring through Simone Cannistrà in the 19th minute, but the visitors replied with goals by young striker Giv’Ecatore (41’) and Lorenzo Colombo from the penalty spot (55’).

Genoa reached 39 points in 13th place, while Pisa remained at the bottom of the table with just 18 points.
