UTA - FCSB 0-1

FCSB won a difficult away game, 1-0 in Arad with UTA , and has the opportunity to quietly prepare for the duel with Manchester United on Thursday, the "final" for the Europa League round of 16. The champion was advantaged by the VAR decision from the penalty that made the difference, although it authoritatively controlled the match.

The game started promisingly, with the crowd cheering. But the offensive appetite of both teams quickly faded.

FCSB because they play the Europa League round of 16 final against Manchester United on Thursday, an impressive mission that Becali and Charalambous' red-blue team has, UTA because they waited to tire their opponent mentally in the big duel at the National Arena.

The Romanian champion started strongly, but Daniel Popa (5) lamentably wasted Edjouma's pass . Ștefănescu and Băluță also joined the race to score, but the Arad redoubt resisted stoically. FCSB had possession in the first half, but the attacks were stopped without too much emotion by Mircea Rednic's defensive system.

Four changes from one shot at FCSB at halftime! Daniel Popa (logically, he doesn't stick to the goal, even if he is dedicated to teamwork), Ștefănescu, Cisotti (almost invisible) and Pantea gave way to Miculescu, Musi, Tănase and Crețu.

Omondi (47) was closer to Târnovanu's goal, a sign that UTA would have wanted more from this match. Out of nowhere, after a duel between Băluță and Conte, spirits were ignited. The game was still too quiet and predictable. The worst came from the melee created by Adrian Țut. He was given a yellow card, his 4th in this edition, and will be absent from the clash with CFR Cluj next Sunday!

FCSB struck in the 60th minute. After the team came out of the defensive well, after blocking Omondi. Miculescu launched Musi into the attack, the latter was caught by Dussaut and... missed in the first phase, after the defender of Arad came in hard, then a penalty after the "central" Viorel Flueran came to review the phase after the notification from the VAR camera.
