Hellas Verona drew with their hosts Inter Milan 1–1 in the closing stages of the match on Sunday, in Matchday 37 (the penultimate round) of the Italian Serie A.
Inter Milan, already crowned league champions for the 21st time in their history, increased their tally to 86 points at the top of the table, with a 13‑point advantage over Napoli in second place.
On the other hand, Hellas Verona, whose relegation had already been confirmed along with bottom‑placed Pisa, moved up to 21 points in 19th (second‑to‑last) place.
Inter Milan will play their final league match of the season away from home, at Bologna, next Sunday.
Verona, meanwhile, will also play their last top‑flight match next Sunday, at home against visitors Roma.
Inter took the lead through an own goal scored by Andreas Ehmundsen in the 47th minute, before Kieron Bouie equalized for Hellas Verona in the first minute of second‑half stoppage time.
The first half took place in a celebratory atmosphere from Inter fans at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, as they wanted to mark the title with their players.
As a result, the first half did not produce any clear chances, while Hellas Verona, who played without any pressure after their relegation was confirmed, tried to threaten the Inter goal and goalkeeper Yann Sommer, to no avail.
In the second half, Inter Milan pressed hard to score the opening goal and got their wish just two minutes after the restart.
The goal came after Henrikh Mkhitaryan delivered a corner kick into Verona’s penalty area, and Andreas Ehmundsen headed the ball into his own net by mistake, allowing the home side to finally open the scoring.
Verona claimed a penalty in the 66th minute after their player Valenti was pushed by Inter’s Luiz Henrique, but the referee refused to award it.
Verona continued pushing for an equalizer and finally succeeded in the first minute of second‑half stoppage time, thanks to Kieron Bouie.
Bouie received a long through‑ball inside the box, dribbled past Inter player Carlos Augusto, and calmly finished into the hosts’ net, sealing the 1–1 draw.
There were no further incidents in the dying minutes of the match, as the referee blew the final whistle to confirm the 1–1 result between Inter Milan and Verona
