Arne Slot has confirmed that Liverpool will go through a slight transition at the end of this season, but not a radical one like the overhaul that happened 12 months ago. He also denied that the team necessarily needs more experienced players just to improve the squad’s mentality.youm

According to the report, Mohamed Salah  one of the major players set to leave, along with Andy Robertson  said last week that the team’s togetherness is changing, and he hopes the players stay united. Slot, however, drew a distinction between team chemistry and mental strength, saying long-serving groups naturally know each other better, while this squad has still shown strong mentality in difficult moments this season.

Slot made the comments at a press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday’s match against Chelsea. He said Liverpool will need some changes because of departures, but stressed that the team has already proven it can cope with hard situations.

The club’s signings last season including Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak  were meant to lower the average age of the squad, but the title defense ended in disappointment. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected back from a knee injury, while Alisson remains out with a hamstring issue. Isak also trained on Thursday and is close to returning after a minor thigh problem. Liverpool need a win to all but secure Champions League qualification by finishing fourth
